MGM To Develop The Outer Limits

Exciting news from Variety and TotalSciFiOnline...

MGM is set to develop a big screen adaptation of cult 1960s sci-fi series The Outer Limits, reports Variety.

The financial troubles that are currently plaguing the studio have caused the production on several films to be delayed or scrapped completely. Development on James Bond 23 has ground to a complete halt and the setbacks experienced in the production of the Hobbit films have been traced back to the studio.

Spider-Man And Men In Black III Start Dates Announced

The start dates for the new Spider-Man movie and Men in Black III have been announced, according to ComingSoon.net.

The untitled Spider-Man reboot, which will be directed by Marc Webb, is due to start filming in Los Angeles in December this year. It was confirmed last month that Andrew Garfield (The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus) would play the role of Peter Parker and his web-slinging alter ego, Spider-Man.

Rihanna To Star In SF Action Movie Battleship

Singer Rihanna will make her feature film debut in Battleship, a sci-fi action movie based on Hasbro’s popular naval combat board game, reports Variety.

Directed by Peter Berg (Hancock), Battleship sees Earth invaded by an alien naval fleet in search of an as yet unknown entity. The world’s navies are forced to band together to ward off the invaders, which takes place over land, sea and sky.

Opera star Katherine Jenkins and Michael Gambon (The Singing Detective, Harry Potter) have joined the cast of the Doctor Who Christmas Special, due to air later this year.

The special will mark Jenkins’ first major acting role after making a cameo in Emmerdale in 2007.

Batman: Dead End is a fan film made by Sandy Collora that premiered July 19, 2003 at the San Diego Comic Con, and on the internet shortly thereafter. The film was made for a reported $30,000.
It can be said that it showed Warner Bros how a true Batman movie can be made. Showing them what fans were looking for before Batman Begins was made.
